Working in retail is a great way to dissect human behavior and even yourself. It’s also a great way to discover a fascinating industry that surrounds us in nearly all we do – as well as countless jobs that exist far beyond the sales associate roles we (as customers) have the most awareness of. So, what are you waiting for. Or walk in to any of our Switch retail outlet to apply or email to [email protected] Why Everyone Should Work Retail Once in Their Lives: Reason #1: Being on the opposite side of the check out counter introduces you to multiple personalities beyond your own, your friends and your families therefore helping you to view people and business from new perspectives. Putting yourself in other people’s shoes can help you gain empathy, patience and respect for individuals from all walks of life. Reason #2: Working in retail introduces you to the realities of consumer behavior – including the joys of working with friendly patrons and the frustrations of working with grouchy, rude, upset, difficult, aloof or non-interested customers.
These experiences can help you better respond to real-life situations both in stores and out of them, as well. Reason #3: Having to work hours that may not be ideal for your social or personal calendar can help offer you stronger appreciation for the time you have off. Plus, it’s a great way to gain appreciation for those having to work holidays, evenings or other non-ideal hours when you cross their paths in the future. Reason #4: Working retail introduces you to more than just customer service scenarios, but also marketing, merchandising, inventory management, logistics, numerical challenges and much, much more. You just may surprise yourself at what you find most enjoyable, least desirable and where your strengths excel. Reason #5: Having to work with colleagues is a great way to learn from others, learn about yourself and find balance in your working habits.
When you work among co-workers within a retail environment, you are put in a position to be a team player. Even if commission plays a role and competition arises, having a team environment can teach you lessons that working strictly solo can never do.

11 Shares We have been busy working with education leaders in Virginia to help solve the teacher shortage by making the career switcher program more effective. Legislation we helped with has now been rolled into Senate Bill 349. This will allow all teacher programs focused on career switchers to help alleviate Virginia teacher shortages in elementary education and special education.
Cara download vector gratis dari shutterstock. The current rules for elementary require that potential teachers have a transcript review with requirements that are so particular that no one could qualify. SB349 would encourage the use of a subject matter test to determine subject matter expertise for elementary teachers.
SB349 also allows career switcher programs to certify in Special Education. Since this is the highest need in the state it only makes sense to allow people who have in an interest in special education to go through preparation to be certified to teach. SB349 has passed out of sub-committee in the Senate and moves to the full education committee next week. This will be a huge help as we prepare to launch and our Career Switcher Program! Looking forward to helping potential teachers in my.
